The AWAIC Shelter provides temporary shelter and emergency refuge to victims of domestic violence and offers community outreach. http://www.awaic.org/
During recent months, the shelter has had very high numbers of women and children visit. Due to short staffing and limited resources, the facility is far behind their clean up schedule. We are looking for people to volunteer time and labor to help clean up and organize the facility. Volunteers are needed to clean:
- All kitchen counters
- Stove top
- Sinks
- Double glass door refrigerator
- All cupboards wiped out
- Floors swept and mopped
- Dining room tables wiped down
- Chairs wiped down
- Windows cleaned in the dining room
- Floors swept & mopped in dining room
- Nursery purged of clothes that do not make sense (prom dresses, shoulder pads, etc.)
- Nursery organized
