Teleconference Line


Officers,

Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback as it relates to our use of the teleconference line for monthly meetings. We have received a number of comments related to its use and as a result, we wanted to provide everyone with a quick update on expectations.

Comment: It is difficult to hear at times

We recognize this difficulty. The microphone(s) are spread throughout the ceiling of the room. We are told there is no way to increase the sensitivity of the microphones. Also, since the microphones are in the ceiling, we can’t really talk directly into them too easily. The good news is that  the room is scheduled to be worked on to enhance and optimize all meeting functions before mid-February. Multiple replacement parts are on order and will soon be installed. Hopefully this will resolve our current audio issues.

We will get final confirmation on improvement dates in the near future. If the fixes are implemented prior to our next meeting, please let us know if you notice a difference. If the fixes are not implemented prior to our next meeting, we will make a concentrated effort to speak louder, as well as encouraging others to do the same.

Comment: I’m not sure if my attendance was documented or not

We are admittedly new to the use of teleconference for our monthly COA meetings. We should be asking for teleconference attendees to introduce themselves prior to the meeting commencing. We will get in the groove soon, so please bear with us. If we happen to forget to request introductions, please make sure to email Allison Gallen to let her know you were in attendance.

We continue to aim for better meeting participation and welcome all comments and suggestions to remove attendance barriers. Thank you for making Aurora Borealis COA so great.
