Attention fellow officers!
The Ronald McDonald House is in need of volunteers for the 3rd Wednesday of every month starting March 15th, 2017.
The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) is located on the 6th floor of the new ANMC patient housing building. The RMH provides a home-away-from-home for ANMC eligible patients particularly expectant mothers with high-risk pregnancies as well as pediatric patients and their families.
COA is currently looking to gather approximately 6 volunteers per month to assist with a RMH event. The event will occur the 3rd Wednesday of each month, and will take place from 5pm to 8pm. Activities will include serving a meal to about 50 people, providing a kid’s related activity, and delivering a short informational message promoting relevant health and educational needs.
In addition to the monthly sponsored COA event, the Ronald McDonald House is also in need of clothing for their guests. To assist in this effort, a clothing donation box will be set up in the Diplomacy building lobby for the month of March for those who wish to contribute. Donated clothing items may be new or used, but should be in good condition and in good taste. Clothing will be accepted for babies, children, women, and men. Maternity clothes are also welcome. If any officers are interested in helping to organize a second collection box at an alternative site or have cash donations, please contact CDR Krista Pihlaja. CDR Pihlaja will also accept Kohl’s Cash and JCPenney “Spend $10, Get $10 Off” coupons (or similar) to purchase additional clothing.
For all officers interested in volunteering or leading a particular event in the next 3 months (March, April, or May), please contact CDR Krista Pihlaja at kkpihlaja@anthc.org.
