The Second Annual AWAIC and Diamond Girls Motorcycle Club Ride is in need of volunteers for Saturday May 20th from 9am-4pm.
The AWAIC and Diamond Girls Motorcycle Club Ride is an event to show support for domestic violence survivors and our community. AWAIC is the largest domestic violence emergency shelter in Alaska, offering a full continuum of services for victims and those who care about them. Since 1977, AWAIC has been providing a domestic violence safe shelter, intervention, and resources to women, men, and children in the Anchorage community. AWAIC is committed to supporting victims of domestic violence, their friends, family, and the community by providing crisis intervention, advocacy, and outreach in the community.
COA is currently looking to gather approximately 2 volunteers at each checkpoint to assist with this event. The event will occur May 20th from 9am to 4pm and volunteer times will be dependent upon the various checkpoint locations. Volunteers will primarily be assisting AWAIC members by checking in riders, handing out water bottles, and assisting with the post ride BBQ. All volunteers are welcome to join the post ride BBQ, and encouraged to bring a friend! The free BBQ will be held at Denali Harley-Davidson in Wasilla and will include a live band!

The Rock Wood Fired Kitchen Penland Parkway (Anchorage)
Volunteers needed from 9:30am – 12:30pm
Checkpoint #2
Birchwood Saloon, 20145 Pilots Road (Chugiak)
Volunteers needed from 11am – 1pm
Checkpoint #3
Mat-Su Independent Cycles, 2108 Glenn Highway (Palmer)
Volunteers needed from 11:30am – 1:30pm
Checkpoint #4
North Bowl, 3250 E Palmer-Wasilla Hwy (Wasilla)
Volunteers needed from 12pm – 2pm
Checkpoint #5
Denali Harley-Davidson, 1497 Hyer Road (Wasilla)
Volunteers needed from 12pm – 3pm
