Hello Aurora Borealis!
As you all know over the past month we were calling for an early election for President -Elect. Unfortunately, we did not receive any applicants during this window. We are going to extend the application window another month. We highly encourage you to consider joining our team. The AB COA has gained a lot of momentum in recent years. The officership our branch shows is one of the best in the country and is proven by our recent recognition with Large Branch of the Year award in 2016 at USPHS Scientific Training and Symposium. We continue to get stronger and add more learning activities to our monthly meetings and have continued to restructure the branch with the SOP and bylaws so it accurately represents all of the hard work members are putting in. This is a huge team effort to continue to excel and shine as a branch and we hope one of you would like to be part of this journey, as President-Elect.
Early election for President-Elect
We are looking to have a motivated, active, and interested officer to step into leadership early by applying for President-Elect. This will allow for four months of training/shadowing and learning with the current Executive Committee. On Oct 1st, the new President-Elect will be acting President from October to December. You will be supported by multiple resources and it will be a huge team effort to ensure successful continuation of business.
Available positions for the 2017-2018 term are:
– President-Elect
Running for a position is easy, simply:
- Make sure you are current on your dues – you must be an active member in the Aurora Borealis branch in order to run for office
- Submit a short bio to the Executive Committee NO LATER than May 17th by the close of business (template is attached)
- Be an example of our core values – Leadership, Service, Integrity, and Excellence!
Candidates will be announced by May 24th. Elections will be conducted at the meeting on the May 31st.
I have also attached the Branch Bylaws and Standard Operating Procedures. Each describe duties and responsibilities of each position.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Respectfully,
