Subject: Key IHS Leadership Announcements
IHS Team:
I would like to share a few announcements regarding key personnel. It is with mixed emotions that I announce that Elizabeth Fowler is leaving her position as the IHS deputy director for management operations. She will be moving to Oklahoma to take the position of Oklahoma City Area executive officer. Liz, a member of the Comanche Nation with descendancy from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, has served in her current role since June 2014 and has been an instrumental part of our headquarters team. I want to thank her for her dedicated service and commitment to the IHS mission. I know that she will continue to make a tremendous impact on Native health in her new role.
Christopher Mandregan, IHS Alaska Area director, will serve as acting deputy director for management operations, effective February 19, 2019. Chris, a member of the Aleut Community of St. Paul, previously served at headquarters as the acting IHS deputy director from October 2007 to February 2009 and again from June 2016 to November 2016. Alaska Area Executive Officer Evangelyn “Angel” Dotomain, who is Cup’ik and Inupiaq, will serve as the Acting Alaska Area director.
I want to extend my gratitude to all of our team members for your continued dedication to fulfilling our mission of raising the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level. Your hard work is truly appreciated and valued each and every day. Thank you.
Michael
