Our new Executive Committee is looking forward to the upcoming operational year and the following events in the next 2 weeks:
- Please join us at our next Aurora Borealis COA branch meeting (ANMC Conference Room 2, Wednesday 7/31, 12-1pm.) We will have an outside presenter from CMS in Denver talking about various opportunities at CMS. Presenter: LCDR Mutiu Okanlawon, Pharm.D., BCPS, Certification & Enforcement Specialist in the Quality, Safety & Oversight Group (QSOG) within the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in Denver.
Presentation: Introduction to the CMS Division of Survey and Certification
- The Aurora Borealis COA Promotion Ceremony is happening Thursday, August 8 at 6:00 pm in the Tribal Drum Auditorium of the Nuka Learning and Wellness Center. CAPT Suzan Gordon, Dietitian CPO, and CAPT Mercedes Benitez McCrary, Therapist CPO will be speaking during the event and attend other meetings during the day.
Although the itineraries for the Chief Professional Officers (CPO) are still being finalized, it looks like we will be soliciting for at least 1 aide-de-camp for CAPT Gordon, Dietician CPO. The therapist category is attempting to identify a suitable therapist JO (O-4 and below), but if they don’t then that will open up other aide-de-camp opportunities.
We will send out more details next week with the official solicitation, but we wanted you to start thinking about the opportunity. I’ve attached a powerpoint on being an aide-de-camp.
