Volunteer Opportunity – Help inspire Anchorage and Eagle River youth this Fall and Winter

The Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education is seeking 34 volunteers in Anchorage & Eagle River to help inspire young Alaskans to pursue higher education by volunteering a few hours with the I Know I Can program – a partnership activity with the University of Alaska College Savings Plan. Please consider sharing this message with your friends and co-workers!

Volunteers visit second grade classrooms, read the I Know I Can storybook with students, and do a fun activity with the class, where students draw pictures of what they want to be when they grow up onto postcards which will be mailed back to them in 2 years. Total time commitment is 1 hour, 15 minutes plus a brown bag training orientation Fri. Nov. 1 at 12pm. (If you can volunteer but are unavailable for the training, please let me know and we can work something out.)

Check out our 5-minute training video: https://acpe.alaska.gov/IKnowICan.
