National COA Award Nominations Due 3/1/22

National COA Awards recognize strong contributions supporting PHS, either by individuals or collectively through Local COA Branches. Here are a few awards to consider:

National COA’s Local Branch Member of the Year Award recognizes excellence in leadership and contributions to COA by any active member of a COA local branch who is NOT on the branch’s Executive Committee. Nominees must demonstrate how they furthered the mission of COA through facilitating and/or promoting local branch activities. Examples of notable activities include chair or co-chair of subcommittees or workgroups, organizing branch-sponsored CV review, or promoting esprit de corps activities. Is that you? Self-nominations accepted. Visit https://coausphs.org/page/Awards to learn more.

National COA’s Civilian Outstanding Support of the USPHS Award recognizes civilian individuals/groups who have improved the performance or achievements of Corps officers. The success of the Corps, and the individual officers, is not possible without the effective support from our civilian colleagues. Outstanding contributions can be made in any area of Corps activity including administration, policy, logistics, and response. Knowledge of the COA is not a requirement for nomination and nominators can be civilians. Which civilians have made a difference in your USPHS career? Nominate them today. National COA’s Retiree of the Year Award recognizes excellence in continued service and contributions beyond active duty or government civilian service to COA, its members, and the PHS Commissioned Officers Foundation. This award acknowledges outstanding civilians who have achieved notable actions through volunteer activities. Contributions include service on Committees and Boards, leadership of particular projects or initiatives, or outreach activities that serve to strengthen COA and/or COF.

Whose continued service will you highlight? Visit https://coausphs.org/page/Awards to learn more.
