HOSA Volunteer Opportunity

Hello Fellow Officers,

We are in need of volunteers for the upcoming HOSA* State Competition.

The event will be held Thursday, March 23 and Friday, March 24 (various times depending on assignment) at the Hilton Hotel located at 500 W 3rd Ave, Anchorage.

*Health Occupations Student Association (HOSA): Future Health Professionals is a high-school organization that develops leadership and technical HOSA skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition, which is an integral part of the Health Science Education instructional program. HOSA has 45 chapters across the country including Puerto Rico.  Every year students compete in local, regional, and national leadership competitions.  Attached is an article about HOSA and the partnership with USPHS for more information.

Events are generally 1 ½ to 2 hours each, and most require 2 judges.  The specific events are listed below.  Experience in the area is preferred but not required, as there are judging rubrics for each event.
