AWAIC is in high need of volunteers for their Annual Fundraiser Gala- “Silent Nights Starry Nights“. The event will take place November 4th from 5pm to 11pm at The Center located at 4855 Arctic Boulevard in Anchorage.
The AWAIC Gala “Silent Nights Starry Nights” is an annual fundraising event bringing together over 300 business professionals, community leaders, and philanthropic donors in support for domestic violence survivors and our community. AWAIC is the largest domestic violence emergency shelter in Alaska, offering a full continuum of services for victims and those who care about them. Since 1977, AWAIC has been providing a domestic violence safe shelter, intervention, and resources to women, men, and children in the Anchorage community. AWAIC is committed to supporting victims of domestic violence, their friends, family, and the community by providing crisis intervention, advocacy, and outreach in the community.
COA is currently looking to gather 20 plus volunteers to assist with this event. The event will start at 5pm on November 4th and shifts will only be a few hours long. Volunteers will be called upon to assist in the set-up, registration, coat checks, raffle sales, auctioning of items, and helping with the breakdown afterwards.
For all officers interested in volunteering for this upcoming event, please contact CDR Lara Nichols at lanichols@anthc.org before October 13th with your name, rank, and requested shift (5-8pm vs 8-11pm).
