Kids2College is a nationwide early college awareness program, designed for students in their last year of elementary school. Their objective is to help students identify career interests, build personal learning and career plans, and understand the steps needed in middle and high school to help better prepare themselves for college and career success. Kids2College is a partnership activity of the University of Alaska College Savings Plan and Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education.
The Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education is currently in need of 44 volunteers to help participate in career panels for upcoming events as listed above. Volunteers will be given the opportunity to talk with 5th and 6th grade students about their own educational and career experiences as part of a career panel. Each volunteer will be provided with guiding questions and tips and asked to speak for 5-10 minutes. Volunteers should then be available for a following Q&A session at the end of the panel. Total time commitment for this event is only 1½ hours. Volunteers will not be responsible for speaking during the entire block of time.
