Fellow officers,
The current leave year for Commissioned Corps officers runs from 1 October 2019 through 30 September 2020. For proper processing, all leave taken or scheduled through 30 September 2020 must be entered and approved in the electronic Commissioned Officer Resources Processing System (eCORPS) by 2 PM EDT on 30 September 2020.
A maximum of 60 days of annual leave can carry over to the new leave year. Leave balances over 60 days will be truncated to 60 days on 1 October 2020 for all Commissioned Corps officers.
The Division of Commissioned Personnel Support (DCPS) will be tracking annual leave balances for IHS officers, so it is imperative that balances are accurate before 1 October 2020. Please ensure all requested leave is approved/denied, and that all taken leave is confirmed by both officer and Leave Approving Official (LAO) in eCORPS by 30 September 2020. On 30 September, DCPS will administratively approve all pending leave requests in eCORPS that have not already been approved.
End of Leave-Year Reminders:
- Leave earned in September 2020 will be added to your balance prior to 1 October 2020.
- Leave can only be deducted accurately if the 4-step process noted below is followed:
- STEP 1 – The officer submits a leave request
- STEP 2 – The officer’s LAO approves the request
- STEP 3 – The officer confirms (or adjusts) leave taken
- STEP 4 – The officer’s LAO confirms leave taken
- Officers and LAOs must confirm all leave taken, and/or remove any leave that was not or will not be taken.
Please work with your LAO, as applicable, to ensure all leave is approved and confirmed in eCORPS by 30 September 2020. If you have any questions, please contact your Regional DCPS Liaison team. If you have technical issues accessing or using eCORPS, please contact the Commissioned Corps Helpdesk at CCHelpdesk@hhs.gov.
Please continue to take good care and be well.
Thank you,
Angela Mtungwa
