Dear Public Health Service Officers,
Each year on November 11, we pause to honor those who have served and sacrificed on behalf of our nation. And we want to recognize you, our Public Health Service officers — veterans as well as current members — for your tireless work to defend our nation’s health and security.
We are so proud to lead a group of officers committed to protecting communities across the nation and across the globe. As a team, we have served in moments of great fear, confusion, and danger. We have served even when it has separated us from our homes, families, and friends. And with diverse sets of skills and experiences, we have come together to serve on the front lines of public health.
As officers in the U.S. Public Health Service, we are part of a family and a story that is so much larger than us. Your leadership, service, integrity, and excellence are sources of great pride for our nation, and your legacy will continue to shape our future.
Thank you for your resilience and ongoing commitment to serve.
