Communication Guidance for COVID-19 Deployments


Dear Commissioned Corps Officers:

The purpose of this message is to provide communication guidance to Commissioned Corps (Corps) officers on the use of social media, how to address press requests and who to contact if approached by the press during the response to the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) public health emergency.  This information applies to all Corps officers. Adherence to standards is a matter of pride, discipline, and conditions of service. Corps officers are required to adhere to Commissioned Corps Directive (CCD) CCD111.03,”Conditions of Service” and to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity at all times.

Attached are the most common frequently asked questions about our communications posture during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Additional guidance has been provided to officers who are rostered for or are on a COVID-19 deployment.
