President – CDR Theresa Castellanos

CDR Theresa Castellanos is a pharmacy officer stationed at Southcentral Foundation in Anchorage, AK.  Born and raised in New Orleans, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry at Loyola University New Orleans and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Howard University in Washington, DC.  She then commissioned with the U.S. Public Health Service and currently serves as an Integrated Clinical Pharmacist at the Anchorage Native Primary Care Center.  She has been involved with the Aurora Borealis Branch, most recently serving on the Membership committee, as Community Outreach Chair, and past Executive Secretary.  She looks forward to serving the branch in her new role as President.  In her spare time, CDR Castellanos loves to cook, create photo books, and travel with her husband and two young children.


President Elect – LCDR Yekaterina Manyoky

LCDR Yekaterina Manyoky began her PHS career at Southcentral Foundation in Anchorage, Alaska as a primary care physician assistant. She increased in her roles and responsibilities there for 9 years, serving as a Primary Care Provider to a clinic for adults with chronic severe mental illness and Dedicated Advanced Practice Provider alongside the Village Medical Director. She learned healthcare management skills in rural Alaska villages and transitioned into a new role with Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium as a Community Health Aid Program (CHAP) Instructor. LCDR Manyoky is currently receiving training in the program’s organizational structure and management per request of CHAP Director to be able to take on more leadership roles.

During the summer, LCDR Manyoky enjoys fishing, hiking, camping and all the adventures that Alaska has to offer.

 


Secretary – LT Erika Thammavongsa

LT Erika Thammavongsa is a nurse officer stationed at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, AK. Originally from Juneau, AK she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alaska Anchorage and holds a Wound Care Certification. Prior to commissioning, she worked at Providence Alaska Medical Center where she gained valuable experience in acute care. She currently serves as a Clinical Nurse Consultant in Wound Care. LT Thammavongsa has been an active member of the Aurora Borealis Branch, serving as the Community Outreach Chair and now looks forward to continuing to support the branch in her role as Secretary. In her free time, LT Thammavongsa enjoys doing puzzles, bird watching, and spending time with family and friends.

 


Treasurer – CDR Kristin “Danielle” Lecy

CDR Lecy was raised in Rochester, MN. Then traveled a bit east coast and west coast before settling in Seattle WA where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  After graduating she came to Alaska and started her career in Public Health with the Municipality of Anchorage.  She moved on to join Pediatrics at SCF and in 2010 she commissioned with USPHS.  Then in 2014 she transferred over to CDC Arctic Investigations Program, while there earned her Masters in Public Health for Columbia Southern University.  She went back to SCF in 2021 to become a Sr. nurse case manger for the Integrated Pediatric Support Team in Primary Care.  CDR Lecy appreciates the outdoors and when not working she, her husband, and dogs spend time at their cabin on the lake in Talkeetna and enjoy traveling in and outside of Alaska.
