President Elect – LCDR Theresa Castellanos
LCDR Theresa Castellanos is a pharmacy officer stationed at Southcentral Foundation in Anchorage, AK. Born and raised in New Orleans, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry at Loyola University New Orleans and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Howard University in Washington, DC. She then commissioned with the U.S. Public Health Service and currently serves as an Integrated Clinical Pharmacist at the Anchorage Native Primary Care Center. She has been involved with the Aurora Borealis Branch, most recently serving on the Membership committee, as Community Outreach Chair, and past Executive Secretary. She looks forward to serving the branch in her new role as President-Elect. In her spare time, LCDR Castellanos loves to cook, create photo books, and travel with her husband and two young children.
Secretary – LCDR Heather Wheelock
LCDR Heather Wheelock is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse specializing as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco. In 2012, she moved to Anchorage, AK as a new graduate nurse midwife to work at the Southcentral Foundation and Alaska Native Medical Center. She commissioned to the U.S. Public Health Service in 2017 and continued serving Alaska Native and American Indian women as a full-time nurse midwife. In 2023, LCDR Wheelock transferred to the CDC where she now works as an Epidemiology Nurse at the Arctic Investigations Program. When she is not busy being a nurse and an officer, LCDR Wheelock enjoys spending time with her husband, three kids, and her dog.
